#1 WHAT’S THE CATCH? HOW ARE YOU MONETIZING THIS?
We hear you! We’ve been asked this question a lot since we went live. There is no catch. You will not be subjected to ads, pop-ups and sign-ups. Believe it or not, we’re human too. We have lived with the same frustrating distractions when all we wanted to do was keep up to date with what was happening in the real-world research field. The solution? We (selfishly) created a tool that helps cut out all the annoying stuff and white noise and provided us with “just the news”. The next step…why keep it to ourselves?
#2 WHAT’S NEXT?
This is “just the news”. What really excites us is the core HawKEye tool we’ve created that provides live updates of (and insights based on) regulatory changes in the real-world research sphere. No more manual searching. And before you say it, no the existing reg intel tools out there don’t cut the mustard. They focus on clinical trials and leave us RWR researchers in the dark. Not anymore! We’ve got you covered.
#3 HOW DO I UNSUBSCRIBE?
It’s very simple. You’ll see an ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of the newsletter. Just click on the link and that’s it, you’ve been unsubscribed! We’ll obviously miss you, but life is too short for regrets, so go forth and embrace your future.
#4 WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH MY DATA?
When you sign up all you are doing is giving us permission to keep you informed with the news. We don’t give, sell or barter your data with anyone else. We like you and we’d like to keep you all to ourselves.
#5 WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY ‘REAL WORLD RESEARCH’? I’VE HEARD ABOUT REAL-WORLD DATA AND REAL-WORLD EVIDENCE BUT NOT REAL-WORLD RESEARCH.
Great question! Real-world data (RWD) is what you collect. Real-world evidence (RWE) is what you generate from RWD. For us, real-world research is how you collect RWD and generate RWE. It just seems simpler to talk about real-world research studies than to talk about real-world evidence studies. That doesn’t make sense. You don’t conduct an RWE study…you conduct a study to generate RWE. Simple semantics, but it helps to keep us sane..ish.
For those of you who need a referenced definition of ‘Real-World Research’:
REAL WORLD RESEARCH (RWR) refers to the collection of patient-related data in a real-world environment (real-world data), and obtaining clinical evidence (real-world evidence) of the value and potential benefits or risks of the medical products through analysis. The primary research type is observational, but it can also be pragmatic clinical trials (Source – China: Key Considerations in Using Real-World Evidence to Support Drug Development (Draft for Public Review) – Center for Drug Evaluation, NMPA – May, 2019)
#6. How do I advertise with Hawkeye News?
You don’t. We are a free News website, free from adverts, pop-ups and fees.
#7. How can I contact the author of an article?
A list of contact information for Hawkeye News is located here. You can email the section the article appeared in for further information.

#9. One of your articles mentioned a treatment I would like to get. How can I get in touch with the supplier?
If an article mentions a product, the article itself will usually contain all the necessary information to track down the research team or company developing the product, and online articles will often have a link. It is unlikely that we have any further details we would be able to disclose.

Press releases should be sent to our news desk. We regret that due to the number of press releases received, a personal reply will not usually be possible.
