Real-World research study reveals less than half of NSCLC patients receive comprehensive biomarker testing prior to receiving 1st line therapy.
| CONTEXT: A retrospective chart review of metastatic NSCLC patients presented at ASCO reveals most people have one biomarker test result prior to initiation of 1st line therapy, whereas only half received all 5 tests available before treatment started. The study conducted in the US reviewed 3474 patients electronic health records to look at which biomarkers were used and also the timing of the tests. This analysis is part of the ongoing MYLUNG study which is designed to assess real-world biomarker testing patterns within the US Oncology Network (including some 1000 providers across the country).
